Updates Regarding Intermittent ResponseWare Session Issues - 2/9

Our ResponseWare Team has identified three issues with ResponseWare that are currently affecting TurningPoint Cloud and TurningPoint 5 ResponseWare sessions and ResponseWare Student App usage. Please note that our teams are still working diligently to correct these identified issues and we expect to have a fix ASAP.

For instructors currently using TurningPoint Cloud or TurningPoint 5 with ResponseWare, users may experience the following issues: 1). polling is open and responses are not being received, 2.) polling closes and chart does not display and 3.) ResponseWare feedback is not displayed.

Suggested User Actions for Intermittent ResponseWare Session Issues

Our ResponseWare Team has identified three issues with ResponseWare that are currently affecting TurningPoint Cloud ResponseWare sessions and ResponseWare Student App usage. 

While our team is diligently working to resolve these issues as quickly as possible, we have also identified some actions users can take in order to address issues while running TurningPoint Cloud with ResponseWare.

1.)  Polling is open and responses are not being received.
Suggested Action: Instructors can repoll the previous question and move forward to the next slide.

2.)  Polling closes and chart does not display.
Suggested Action: Instructors can refresh the chart to display responses received.
NOTE: Not all responses may have been captured. 

3.)  ResponseWare feedback (student to instructor) is not displayed.
Suggested Action: Instructors can end current session and restart the same reserved session, or start a new random session ID.

Please note the ResponseWare server issues experienced earlier today (1/14) have been resolved and ResponseWare is now operational. Users now have the ability to start or connect to a ResponseWare session.

The issues will affect the ability to start or connect to a ResponseWare session at this time.  We are working to resolve these issues as quickly as possible and will inform customers when the issues have been resolved and when ResponseWare sessions are able to be run again.

ResponseWare Server Outage 1/14

Please note that the ResponseWare server is currently experiencing technical difficulties. The issues will affect the ability to start or connect to a ResponseWare session at this time.  We are working to resolve these issues as quickly as possible and will inform customers when the issues have been resolved and when ResponseWare sessions are able to be run again.

TurningPoint v5.3.2 Release

Turning Technologies is happy to announce the release of TurningPoint v5.3.2.  Software is currently available to download on our downloads page.  Customers that have automatic updates enabled will receive the new version. Please note that is a PC only release and only includes minor bug fixes.  It is not a required update.
 
Notes for TurningPoint v5.3.2 include:

  • Addressed issues with PowerPoint Polling delaying opening of polling when connected to ResponseWare
  • Addressed international issue for English version of TurningPoint installed on a Korean or Chinese OS
  • Addressed several other, minor bugs

Turning Account v1.1 Release

Turning Technologies is happy to announce the release of Turning Account v1.1.

Turning Account v1.1 is updated and available at account.turningtechnologies.com.  For new users, new account creation will require e-mail verification and the ability to add license and device IDs during account creation.  New and existing users will see a revised interface, including a dashboard screen.  Support has been added to change or add e-mail addresses within accounts.

Notes for Turning Account v1.1 include:

  • New Account Creation process that requires e-mail verification
  • Ability to add License and Device ID on account creation
  • Dashboard displaying connection to LMS, if present.  If not present, instructions on how to connect display.
  • Simplified user interface
  • Redemption of account licenses directly from account
  • Support for one account to change or add e-mail addresses
